Surrealistic Artists
Yves Tangus was
born in Paris, France on January 5th 1900. 1918, he briefly joined the merchant navy before
being drafted into the Army. He came home from the military in 1922 and
returned to Paris. He found a painting created by Giorgio de Chirico, Yves was
inspired by Giorgio’s painting and wanted to become an artist himself.
Eugene Atget was
born on February 12th, 1857. He was a French photographer noted for
his photographs documenting the architecture and street scenes of Paris. He was
born outside the French city bordeaux. He was orphaned till the age of 7 and
raised by his uncle. Eugene’s photographs didn’t get attention until after he
was dead.
Artist Name: Yves Tangus
Title:
Reply to Red
Date: 1943
Description: colourful pieces of old items put together to make it look very
creative.
Analysis:
this piece is very horizontal, but it is better off being a wide image so
that it portrays all of the images evenly.
Interpretation: my interpretation of this image is that you have to look at this image longer
to understand this artwork better, it may just look like a bunch of nothing but
it has more creativity to this artwork. I feel as if, if you are a creative
person you will like this artwork a lot more than someone else
Judgement: overall
I really like this piece of artwork. Its just a basic meaningless photo, but it
is so creative that I really enjoy this piece by Yves Tangus.
Artist’s Name: Eugene Atget
Title: N/A
Date: N/A
Description: a photograph taken of what looks to be a
door or an entrance to something. This photograph has many details and is very
appealing to the eye.
Analysis: this piece is very symmetrical. The length
and width look to be about even. The symmetrical
Interpretation: with this photo taken by Eugene
Atget you kind of get that curious feeling of what is behind the door. You can
assume that what ever is behind the door is scary or weird.
Judgement: I extremely
like this photograph taken by Eugene Atget. The main part of this photo is the
door but the background blends in perfectly for the door to be the main point of
the photo.
These artists are
completely different from each other, Yves Tangus is an artist because he draws
his artwork, but Eugene Atgat is a photographer which he takes photos of
surreal images. Both artist have many inspiring and creative work. Both artists
are also well known. The first photo is more of an creative mindset to it, but
the second photo is more of an curious feel to it.

David Hockney face collage
this collage is of the beautiful Justin Morgan. I made this collage by taking a lot of pictures of different areas of his face.
David Hockney inspired collage
I created this collage by taking a lot of pictures of my shed. I took many pictures of only parts of my shed, so I could put all the pieces together to make it look like the complete shed.

Photography Composition
Leading Line
Backyard Patio Brian Bucher 2014
Leading Line-A line that leads you visually to an object or
that leads into the distance creating depth.
This picture represents a leading line because if you look at the line it leads you onto something else.
Framing
Baseball Brian Bucher 2014
Framing – shooting through something to get the main subject
behind it. The subject is framed by something in the foreground.
This picture represents framing because I took the photo through a picture frame so it would focus on the main points.
Formal balance
My Deck Brian Bucher 2014
Formal Balance – both sides of the picture are similar.
This picture is an example of formal balance because the two chairs are similar to each other.
Low Key
Game ball Brian Bucher 2014
Low Key- dark, less intense, inactive.
This picture is an example of a low key picture because the baseball in the photo is in a dark area.
Close Distance
Joe Flippin Francis Brian Bucher 2014
Close Distance- when the object is close to your camera.
This picture is an example of close distance because flippin is very close to my camera, pretty much just singling him out.
